Wipers is a Chrome extension that removes posts matching slop patterns from your LinkedIn feed. This policy covers the extension and the wipers.ai website.
The short version
- Post analysis happens entirely in your browser. Post content never leaves your machine.
- We store very little: an optional email address, a random install id, and your subscription status.
- Payments are handled by Polar, our merchant of record.
- There is no analytics or tracking code in the extension or on this site.
What happens in your browser
Wipers scores each post in your LinkedIn feed against a set of writing-pattern rules. This runs inside the extension, on your machine. Wipers does not send post content, author names, or anything else it reads on linkedin.com to us or to anyone else.
Data the extension keeps locally, in your browser's extension storage:
- The wipe log: the last 200 wiped posts (author, first line, matched rule ids), kept so you can restore them.
- Your never-wipe list of posts and authors.
- Your lifetime wipe counter.
- Your license status and a random install id.
Your settings (mode, sensitivity, connection guard, feedback opt-in) are synced between your Chrome profiles by Chrome's built-in extension sync. We never see them.
The extension periodically downloads an updated rules file from our server. This is a plain download: no data about you or your feed travels with it beyond what any HTTP request contains.
What we store on our servers
- Email address (optional). Only if you give it to us. Used for trial reminders and receipts.
- Install id. A random identifier created when the extension installs. It lets us tie your install to a trial or subscription without knowing who you are.
- Subscription status. Whether your install is on trial, active, or lapsed.
- Rule-id feedback (opt-in, off by default). If you turn feedback on, the extension reports which rule ids triggered on wiped posts. This contains no post text and no author names, and cannot be used to reconstruct what you saw.
Nothing else. We do not store post content, browsing history, your LinkedIn identity, or your network.
Payments
Payments are processed by Polar, our merchant of record. Polar collects what payment processing requires (name, email, payment method, billing country) under its own privacy policy, and retains payment records for as long as the law requires. We receive your subscription status and the email tied to the purchase. We never see your payment details.
This website
wipers.ai is a static site. It sets no cookies and runs no analytics or tracking scripts.
Deleting your data
Email support@wipers.ai from the address tied to your account, or include your install id (shown in the extension popup), and we will delete our records: your email and its link to your install id and subscription status. Polar retains the payment records it is legally required to keep. Everything the extension stores locally is deleted when you uninstall it.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version is posted here with a new date. Material changes that affect subscribers are announced by email where we have your address.
